01

Our commitment

Founderland will not discriminate in employment or programme delivery because of age, disability, gender, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

02

Scope

  • Current and prospective full-time, part-time, fixed-term, and freelance staff.
  • Interns and volunteers.
  • Programme participants, applicants, and community members.
  • Partners, facilitators, and suppliers acting for Founderland.
  • Recruitment, selection, employment conditions, programme access, and associated conduct.
03

Legal framework

Founderland operates under German law and is committed to the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), the European Convention on Human Rights, and applicable EU equality directives. Across borders, Founderland aims to apply the most protective applicable standard.

04

Employment

Roles are advertised clearly, selection criteria reflect role requirements, and decisions are based on merit. Founderland encourages applicants underrepresented in its sectors. Staff receive equal pay for equal work, equal development opportunities, and reasonable adjustments for disability or specific needs.

05

Programme access

Founderland programmes intentionally serve women of colour founders facing structural racial and ethnic barriers, consistently with the organisation’s charitable purpose. Within that mission, no eligible participant should be excluded on an additional protected ground. Founderland provides reasonable adjustments and seeks feedback on access barriers.

06

Responsibilities

The Managing Director holds overall responsibility. Staff, contractors, and facilitators must understand and follow this policy. Contradictory conduct is taken seriously.

07

Harassment and bullying

Founderland does not tolerate harassment, bullying, or victimisation, including unwanted conduct connected to a protected characteristic or conduct creating a hostile, degrading, or offensive environment. Concerns are handled confidentially, fairly, and with care.

08

Complaints

Raise concerns with the Managing Director at hello@founderland.org. A concern involving the Managing Director may be raised with a Founderland board member. Complaints are acknowledged promptly, investigated fairly, and resolved as quickly as possible. No one is penalised for raising a concern in good faith.

09

Monitoring and review

Founderland reviews this policy annually, including staff, applicant, and participant diversity and opportunities for improvement. Read it alongside the Safeguarding and Privacy policies.
